MICHAEL MELDRUM

Principal

Michael Meldrum has more than 22 years of experience in the drill pipe industry. He began his career in business development in the late 1990s, working with the John Lawrie Group in Scotland. He then relocated to Houston, Texas to head the launch of John Lawrie Tubulars. Michael served as president of John Lawrie Tubulars until 2017, when the Meldrum Family sold the company to the private equity investors. His dedication to customer service and his passion for the industry helped to grow this venture from a small endeavor to a huge enterprise.

 

Over the last two decades, Michael has used his expertise to successfully navigate multiple market cycles within the oil and gas industry, deftly adapting with the needs of the moment. Michael also used the last three years to invest in the real estate industry, honing his disciplined approach to investment and due diligence. He is now able to apply this approach to the Drill Pipe industry.

 

Outside of work, Michael has been happily married for 16 years. He and his wife share two children. Michael enjoys spending time outside enjoying nature with his family, whether that be through hiking, cycling, or simply playing catch in the yard. Additionally, he has a particular passion for collecting vintage Porsches and bringing new life to well-loved pieces.

CHRISTOPHER PO

Principal

Chris Po has more than 27 years of experience within the oil and gas drill pipe industry under his belt. His career first began with Turner Machine Shop (now known as NOV) in Pearland, where he served as an Oilfield Machinist and first discovered his passion for this industry. His incredible success with Turner Machine Shop caught the eye of the team at Oiltube, Inc., who then brought Chris onto their team as Manager.

 

With Oiltube, Inc., Chris was able to further his education in the industry and develop a deeper appreciation for quality products and exemplary service. He eventually transitioned into Product and Service Sales, helping to expand his horizons and experience even further. Chris found a true passion for this side of the business and eventually joined International Tubular Services (Rentals, Sales, & Services) as Asia Pacific Regional Manager, heading up their Singapore office.

 

Chris joined John Lawrie Tubulars as Sales Manager 12 years ago and played a valuable role in the growth of the company. He has led the Oil & Gas Sales department to new heights, based around unmatched customer services and the dedication to obtaining superior products.

 

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. He can also be found working in his yard or repairing old cars in his garage. Though raised in Texas, Chris has a passion for traveling abroad and loves to meet new people from cultures around the world.

DARLENE RODGERS

Accounting

It’s hard to find a more experienced bookkeeper than Darlene, as she has an impressive 42 years of experience in the industry. In addition, Darlene holds 13 years of involvement within the oil and gas drill pipe industry, a field that she’s become increasingly passionate about over the years. Her combined experience with finance and drill pipes makes her a truly irreplaceable member of the MPT team.

 

Darlene’s experience in bookkeeping is vast, exposing her to a wide number of industries including everything from oil and gas drill pipes to real estate. She has served multiple companies to handle their accounting and distribution needs and has proved herself an invaluable asset in terms of both daily and long-term operations. Darlene was also the proud co-owner of American Transmissions for 35 years, giving her a wide range of business experience that has shaped the rest of her career.

 

In addition to her vast professional experience, Darlene is proud to have raised a beautiful family. She enjoyed 38 years of marriage to her husband Carl, who unfortunately passed away in 2015. Darlene is a proud mother of three (one son and two daughters) and a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren. In addition to spending time with her family, Darlene enjoys being involved with Sagemont Church, where she has been a member for 38 years. She also enjoys cooking delicious meals, shopping for unique items for her home, and traveling the country to meet new people.

CYNTHIA MONTEMAYOR

Coordinator

Cynthia Montemayor is born and raised in Houston with over 20 years of experience in office administration. With 10 plus years in the drill pipe industry, Cynthia can manage the most complex projects with ease.

Cynthia grew up hearing about the drill pipe industry from her dad who has worked in the field for over 40 years.

Cynthia joined John Lawrie Tubulars in 2012 as the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator. During her tenure, Cynthia managed many functions including, Inventory Management, Domestic and International Logistics. Cynthia’s natural aptitude for organization combined with her diligence contributed to the smooth and efficient management of all shipping receiving and inventory management.

Cynthia holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from University of Houston. She also works part time as a digital content creator. Cynthia’s combined experience in accounting, social media and in the drill pipe industry make her the perfect Coordinator at MP Tubulars.

In her time off, Cynthia enjoys traveling to new places with her husband of 7 years. She also enjoys spending time with her Labrador, Buck, and her large family.
